7. Area of Operation :

Since GJKP started its journey of development in the year 1984-85 under took one Panchayat with

the financial assistance from DRDA to implement TRYSEM programs, over a period the activities

spread  in six blocks of sub division west Muzaffarpur. The TRYSEM program continued along with

other programs like Construction of Biogas, Smokeless Chulha, implementation of Creche for 0 to 6

years children and Vocational Training with the financial support from CSWB, New Delhi. Many

other Agencies come forward to support GJKP to spend its working area. Presently GJKP activities

are in following districts of Bihar State.

8.Target Population :   

Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Small and Marginal Farmers, Artisans, women and children  

irrespective of caste and religion, has been assisted on the basis of poverty and resource less, house

holds of the project area. Women and children and disables from rural and urban population the

block wise population figures are enclosed for reference.

Genesis of GJKP:

Maqbool Ahmed, a young college student came in contact with Padam shree K.D.Dewan the then

Director, Consultancy cum Guidance Centre, Vaishali, Bihar and the Director, Paroo Prakhand

Samagra Vikas Pariyojna, AT&PO, Gokula, Muzaffarpur during a workshop at Muzaffarpur,

inspired and enthusiastic to know about the achievements of leading social workers of the area and

decided to follow the foot steps of both social workers and accordingly set up an organization in

close association with other like minded youth of Sahebganj locality to do some fruitful work for the

poor and resource less communities of the area. Thus GJKP has been set up and got registered under

the provision of Society Registration Act u/s XXI of 1860 on Jan 30th, 1985 with following vision

and mission. GJKP since than working for the poor and resource less house holds relentlessly

ensuring that the population of this category may lead dignified life in the society.

Vision Statement:

GJKP thought of a vision to empower the marginal and resource less sections of the society equipped

with education, motivation and skill to lead dignified life in the society with self respect.

Mission Statement:

To help towards establishing a society where the poor, resource less and deprived sections of the

society may valued and provided with a prospect to grow and become prosper by initiating the values

of an egalitarian society in existing social structure.

GJKP move forward with its vision and mission in the year 1985, started skill development programs

with DRDA assistance a key to all locks of poverty and unemployment way back in the year 1985-86

under TRYSEM programs of the Govt. of India. GJKP kept its pace during the long journey of 25

years and now, implementing Micro Finance, SGSY and support to Leather Artisans and ASHA

Training in Three Districts.
